AICE media studies

I have decided to do the magazine project. I feel that I can meet the requirements for the magazine more than the film. I enjoy taking photos and will be willing to take time to do a photo shoot for the magazine, as well as writing an article. I will first have to choose what style magazine I want mine to be, and then pick a title. The article and photos will have to correspond with the style and title as well. Right now, I am considering doing an athletics magazine where I can write an article on a sport and it will be aimed towards athletes. I will have to work on my writing and get creative with the article. I may include an interview of an athlete, and photos of them. I will be working with one other partner, Olivia Oliver, who will be making a separate issue of the same magazine. Her skills in writing make her a good fit for making a magazine.

Film production has a lot of behind the scenes work that can sometimes be overlooked. In film production, there is the writer, director, actors, editors, camera operators, costume designers, and more. I have learned there is a lot of work that goes into producing a film. Creating a film takes creativity, time, and patience. I think the most challenging part would be finding a time when both you and the actors can spend time filming and getting every shot perfect. I also do think it would be rewarding when it is all finished. Choosing to make a film for this project can also be a good learning experience, practicing camera work and editing may be beneficial.

Based on what I have learned this far in class, print journalism is reporting the news. It could be in the form of a newspaper, magazine, etc. In print journalism it is very important for the information to be accurate and reliable. There is a lot of background research to be done before an article can be put out for the public eye. This can be a challenging aspect. Print Journalism also includes photography. I take photos a lot for a photography class and I think it would be interesting to experiment with photography that would be fit for a magazine. This would mean photos that could be used to advertise.
